Ghana: Part 2

We woke up early on Friday morning to start our hike up Afadjato. Mount Afadjato is the highest mountain in Ghana, at an altitude of 2,904 ft. The mountain is located in the Agumatsa Range in the Volta Region of Ghana at the border with Togo.

It was a very steep climb that took about an hour to get up. The view was amazing at the top, especially to see the villages below and even the bordering country of Togo.
very steep climb the whole way!

looking good after the long hike :)
view from the top

the valley below
crazy large bug we saw on the hike, probably the size of the palm of your hand!
looks like a higher peak, but is actually a mountain on a mountain, not a freestanding peak, so we were told it didn't count :)
view of Togo
view of the village below
very Lion King tree on top of the mountain
Graham and Jason at the top (I was way too sweaty for pics!)
the lovely sign full of graffiti
our tour guide (in red) actually climbed in his flip flops, what a pro!
another proud look at where we had been
We were too tired to do another 2 hours to the Tagbo Falls after we were finished.
beautiful pink and white flowers at the base of the mountain
and we did conquer this mountain! Yea!
