Our wonderful new friends, Graham and Kristiann, invited us along on a weekend trip to Ghana and we were so lucky to get to join in this adventure! They did an excellent job researching what to do near Accra, the capitol of Ghana, and recently listed as the #4 place to see in 2013 by NYT!(

The first day we drove about 1 hour from the airport to the bead market in Koforidua. It was amazing at all of the different kind of beads available and they were so cheap!! I got several bracelets for about $0.75 that were beautiful!

Next was a 4 hour commute to Hohoe (pronounces ho hoy) to the Wli Water Heights hotel. We decided to go ahead and take the 45 minute hike up to see the waterfalls. Wli Falls is the highest in West Africa. I took many pictures along the hike as it was nice to see all the beautiful nature (Lagos is very flat, so it was a pleasant surprise).
Unfortunately, there was a bus of high school students that showed up about the same time as us, so we decided not to get in the water. Still beautiful but not as serene as we imagined, as we had to enjoy the falls with about 100 other people.
We were definitely worn out after a long day of traveling (we woke up at 4:30am to get to the airport by 6am). But we enjoyed a great dinner, some rum and freshly squeezed pineapple juice, and a couple games of cards before an early bedtime!

| And this was only the bottom half of the falls. There was a pool above this and a larger falls above that! |

| I tried to capture all of the bats (all those little brown things) that were on the well next to the waterfall |
