Month Eight

This month was so much growth for our little baby. She started teething, as she loved to chew on anything hard - even the kitchen cabinet handles, the corner of books, the metal clip for her paci, and my knees! We had to lower her crib this month as she started resting her feet on top of the rails and trying to kick off the mobile. I love that we get to cuddle in bed in the mornings for about an hour or so before she falls back asleep again holding my hand. She has started to repeat sounds after me like "ck for duck as "ah" for quack. She started tilting her head all the time and its so funny! We are not sure what started it or why she is doing it but it cracks me up. She is awake for longer during the day and thus our lives have been a little more social with play dates, lunch dates and shopping at the mall. She also started sitting in the booth next to me at restaurants and plays well sitting by herself.
She slept through the night (8 straight hours after a night feeding) for the first time on August 22nd, then a couple more times the first 2 nights of September. But, of course, I was up several times just expecting her to wake up and just staring at the monitor waiting. She loves to bounce and talk and snacking on rice cakes (her first finger food). She even starting crying and screaming if you try to take the rice cake away or she drops it on the floor. She loves to tuck her chin and try to sit up constantly, even while changing her diaper or getting her to sleep. She started walking forward in her walker now. She has learned to play catch and throw the ball back to me. She also kissed her friend Peyton on the mouth while they were playing, such a little flirt. She started making the "ba" sound right at her 8 month birthday.
New foods this month were green beans, pears, apples, pumpkin, brown rice cereal, bananas, peas, eggplant, and applesauce.

Month Seven

Lillian slept in her big crib in her room for the first time this month and slept for a solid 7 hours. She started to sit up in her stroller instead of lay down, so she also loved to throw her toys on the ground constantly. She is rarely on her back anymore as she sits up on her play mat at home for hours and also sits in the exersaucer and Bumbo chair. She learned how to walk backwards in the walker and is always on the move in the kitchen. She started taking a bath in the big tub while sitting in a bath chair and really loves it. She loves looking at babies, whether in the mirror, on the wipes package or in books. She is making a lot of noises and sticking her tongue out as her version of talking. She still takes 2 naps a day, which I continue to rock her to sleep, but she falls asleep on her own at night after eating. She tried avocados, peas, butternut squash and carrots this month.

Italy 2015

Jason, Lillian and I flew to Rome, Italy on July 11, 2015 and had a marvelous week in the wine country. We stayed in Tuscany in a old farmhouse turned villa and took day trips to Florence, Sienna, Pisa, Rome and several small towns in between. Lillian slept good during the night flight, our many roadtrips and even during some sightseeing. She would go to bed in her crib in our room around 7 or 8 and Jason and I could enjoy the late sunset (9ish) and wine on our patio and surrounding gardens every night. She flipped onto her tummy from her back a few times in the crib for the first time in Italy. We listened to Raffi songs on my phone every time she got fussy in the car or in her stroller and she would instantly calm down. We had such an amazing vacation, but I will let the pictures so the rest of the talking!
